Some of the benefits to having your business located in Collingwood are:

Graffiti Abatement Program - Regular graffiti patrols and removal, businesses are encouraged to call in any graffitti sightings to 604.684.4747. Over the years, businesses have noticed the difference in the amount of graffiti.  In the summer of 2009, the CBIA had all the utility boxes and two trash compactors

Crime Prevention Programs: - Collingwood Guardians patrol the KIngsway corridor and act as the eyes and ears for the Collingwood Business Impovement Association and the Collingwood Community Policing Centre.  The Guardians work as an extension oto the Collingwood Bike and Foot Safety Patrol. These two programs help keep our area safe area to shop, visit and do business in. For more information please call CBIA 604.639.4403 or the Collingwood Community Policing Centre(CCPC) 604.717.2935.

Street Beautification Program:  - Tree planting and lightening during the holiday season; colourful street banner program; Street Clean Team our out 3 days a week. In the spring of 2009, two solar panelled trash compactors were installed at the corner of Kingsway and Joyce and Kingsway and Tyne.  These trash compactors can hold up to 10 times the amount of a regular trash can.

Community Involvement: - The CBIA hold many events for the businesses to participate in.  In the past, we have had a Christams Tree Parade, Christmas Wreath Contest and Jack O Lantern contest.  Collingwood celebrates Chinese New Year with a visit from the Lucky Lions who dance and bring good luck and prosperity for the new year.   The lighting of our Community Christmas Tree is a huge event held at the corner of Tyne and Kingsway in the Safeway parking lot.  Hot drinks, and goodies are provided by our own Starbucks and Safeway.  Entertainment is from our local elementary schools and the CCPC provides a holiday movie for the the families.

The biggest community event the CBIA participates in is Collingwood Days.  An event usually held at the end of May.  The day starts with a parade leaving the Collingwood/Vaness skytrain and ending up at the Carelton Elementary school grounds where you will see an International Marketplace, Food Court, Rides and Games and loads of great entertainment on the stage and intermingled on the grounds.  For more information www.collingwooddays.com
