The Collingwood Business Improvement Association in partnership with the Collingwood Community Policing Centre launched an Ambassador Program in early October.  Since then we have been advised the word Ambassador can not be used to describe the role the individuals provide as it is trademarked by the Downtown Vancouver BIA.

A new name has been decided on "Collingwood Guardians".  The function of the "Collingwood Guardians" will be the same as previously reported and described below.

The role of the Collingwood Guardians is to patrol the Kingsway corridor and to act as the eyes and ears for the Collingwood BIA and the Collingwood CPC.  The Guardians are dedicated to assisting the business community.  You'll see them at BIA community events, patrolling Kingsway, helping businesses, patrons and visitors in the area, plus they will add an extra measure of security and compliment the BIA's existing Bike & Foot Safety Patrol program.

Collingwood Guardians will be stopping by every commercial business throughout this initial 3 month trial period.  They will be easy to recognize in their red & black uniforms.
